"The Time Machine"....no, I'm not talking about my current comic book project (although the Time machine plays a large part in it). I'm talking about the time machine we as artists use to look back at the work of the master artists that preceded us. I've always tried to learn what influenced the artists that influence me...to track the lineage of what makes me want to draw. I'll be the first to admit that I worship the art of Bernie Wrightson. His work on Swampthing and the Warren magazines of the 1970s was the biggest shaper of my desire to become a cartoonist. In the maiden voyage of my time machine, I learned that Wrighson was hugely influ

There are artists that I call "Direct Influences", those whom have given me help or advice over the years. The weird part is, the 3 artists I think of as my biggest direct influences, I don't know on a personal level. One, I've only met once and the other 2, I've never met in person.   I met Butch Guice at a small comic convention in Norfolk, VA back in the early 1980s. We were both TERRIBLY young and he was just starting to make a name for himself at Marvel. I showed him some of my drawings, he was very complimentary and invited me to sit at his table. He gave me drawing pointers and introduced me to proper comics drawing materials AND sho

Well, because if the questione is whose style I'm biting, the answer is "No one....and everyone."  I see little things in many an artist's work that I may try out to see if it works for me. Sometimes I feel like trying out an Art Nouveau  outline a la Adam Hughes...or something moody with hatching coming out of the solid black areas, like Kevin Nowlan. But I don't think I try to just rip off another artist's total drawing style. At least I hope I don't.   I think

Amazing Work!!!!!!!! :headbang:
Thanks very much for the Watch! :salute:
Loving the cool Time Machine / Invisible Man cross-over story concept -- I'll definitely be picking up "A Stitch In Time" when it comes out!
Inviziblewolf, "Stitch" has been a lot of fun to draw. I'm waiting for the last half of the script for issue 2. Glad you like the art so far.
Yup, your art looks great, and I'm hoping (and assuming!) the story is just as good.

Is it just the two issues, then, or are there more planned?
The first story is 3 issues. But we are planning a sequel.
